'In 1998 maakte Els Dietvorst de stap van Brasschaat naar hoofdstad Brussel. Met het project 'De terugkeer van de zwaluwen' treedt ze in dialoog met bewoners van de multiculturele Anneesenswijk. Het project resulteert in langlopende processen, in kranten, voordrachten, films en bovenal in ontmoetingen met tal van ingeweken Brusselaars. Kunst ontstaat voor Els Dietvorst steeds vanuit en in samenwerking met mensen.' (Eva Wittocx)
