Since 2015 the In Situ programme at M HKA has presented monographic exhibitions by artists from around the world. It focuses on the development of new work and specific presentations conceived for the largest and most atypical exhibition space of the museum. The triangular space dates from the transformation of the building in 1993 and measures 2936 cubic metres. Its window is oriented towards the Scheldt River.
This exhibition is the sixteenth in the In Situ programme.

Sara Deraedt (°1984) was born in Liedekerke, Belgium, and lives in Brussels. She works as a tutor at Luca School of Arts in Brussels. Recently she realised exhibitions at Etablissement d’en Face in Brussels (Sara Deraedt, 8 February–7 July 2020) and at the Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago (Sara Deraedt – Ruttenberg Contemporary Photography Series III, 24 August 2019–5 January 2020). The exhibition at M HKA is the artist’s first monographic exhibition in a European museum.
