Bill Woodrow

Born in Henley (GB).

From 1967 to 1972 Bill Woodrow studied at different art academies in London – having Anthony Caro as one of his teachers – and together with contemporaries and fellow-travelers like Tony Cragg, Richard Deacon and Anthony Gormley, he helped found “New British Sculpture”. Just as with Cragg, Woodrow also makes extensive use of refuse, scrap and disposable materials.
