M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Buky Schwartz

1932 - 2009

Born in Jerusalem ().

Buky Schwartz explores our viewing and thinking habits through his sculptures, paintings and video constructions. During the 1960s and 1970s, he makes minimalist sculptures in which he places mirrors. He also places human figures in spaces that can only be seen in their entirety from a specific viewpoint. His practice focuses on a play with optical illusions as a way to persuade the public to change their perception of what is being shown. In order to complete the final image, the installations make use of video objects and live cameras. Later, video is integrated as well in this game of appearing and disappearing. This playful interaction runs like a thread through his work.
