During the course of her artistic oeuvre, she experiments with various construction techniques and materials such as plaster, metal, plexiglass, neon etc. At first she creates wall-mounted syntheses comprising plaster or metal on a white background. Her experimentations with plaster lead her to create the series \u003cem\u003eCycladic Books\u003c/em\u003e. The artist pours wet plaster onto paper trading boxes and when it has dried she removes the paper box. During the period 1955-60, she creates metal or plaster plaques upon which she engraves letters or symbols which alternate with blank spaces and refer to antiquity\u0026rsquo;s monumental epigraphs. At the end of the Fifties she begins to create paintings inspired by the structure and order of newspaper pages.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eIn the early Sixties she moves from the paintings-newspapers to sculptures, for which she uses moulds, experimenting with the different kinds of structural arrangements that can occur on a newspaper page. In the early Sixties, she incorporates neon into her work, a staple element in her oeuvre from now on. Charmed by the lights and lit signboards that dominate New York at the time, she uses neon to construct a series of sculptures, the supreme example being \u003cem\u003eThe Gates to Times Square\u003c/em\u003e, that graced New York\u0026rsquo;s Times Square. Onmiddellijk na haar studies verhuist ze naar New York. Ze begint er te beeldhouwen. Tijdens haar artistieke loopbaan experimenteert ze met allerlei constructietechnieken en materialen als gips, metaal, plexiglas, neon, enz. Eerst cre\u0026euml;ert ze samenhangende, aan de muur bevestigde kunstwerken waarin ze gips of metaal op een witte achtergrond samendrukt. Haar experimenten met gips leiden tot het ontstaan van de reeks \u003cem\u003eCycladic Books\u003c/em\u003e. De artieste giet nat gips op papieren dozen en wanneer alles opgedroogd is, verwijdert ze de papieren doos. Tijdens de periode 1955-1960 cre\u0026euml;ert ze plaatjes van metaal of gips waar ze letters of symbolen in graveert die afwisselen met lege ruimtes en verwijzen naar de monumentale epigrafen uit de oudheid. Aan het einde van de jaren vijftig begon ze schilderijen te maken ge\u0026iuml;nspireerd door de structuur en volgorde van krantenpagina\u0026rsquo;s. In het begin van de jaren zestig schakelde ze over van de schilderijen-kranten naar het beeldhouwen. Ze maakte gebruik van gietvormen en experimenteerde met de verschillende soorten van structurele indelingen die op een krantenpagina kunnen voorkomen.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eIn het begin van de jaren zestig begon ze gebruik te maken van neon in haar werk, een element dat vanaf dan niet meer weg te denken is uit haar oeuvre. Gecharmeerd door de lichtjes en de verlichte reclameborden die toen de skyline van New York domineerden, gebruikte ze neon om een hele reeks beeldhouwwerken te maken. Het ultieme voorbeeld hiervan was \u003cem\u003eThe Gates to Times Square\u003c/em\u003e als eerbetoon aan Times Square in New York. De artieste bracht regelmatig een bezoekje aan China Town in New York wat haar heel wat inspiratie opleverde. Aan het einde van de jaren 70 maakte ze bijvoorbeeld een nieuwe reeks schilderijen en in het begin van de jaren tachtig zag een reeks aan de muur bevestigde reli\u0026euml;fwerken het licht. Ze haalde hiervoor haar inspiratie uit de Chinese kalligrafie.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eDe periode 1992-1994 bracht ze door in Athene waar ze een reeks van bij elkaar passende beeldhouwwerken combineerde met opgenomen geluiden uit de stad.
