Elene Chantladze

Born in Supsa (GE), lives in Tsaltubo (GE).

Elene Chantladze (1946, Supsa, GE) is a writer and artist whose practice comprises poetry, storytelling and painting. Her visual work was shown for the first time at Festival Art-Gene, Tskaltubo, in 2012. Since then, she has had solo exhibitions at LC Queisser, Tbilisi (2020), Modern Art, London (2021), Fierman, New York (2022), Kunsthalle Zürich (upcoming, 2023) and has been featured in group exhibitions at Gallery Nectar, Tbilisi (2015 & 2013), Ausstellungsraum Klingental, Basel (2015), Conceptual Fine Arts, Milan (2021), Croy Nielsen, Vienna (2022), Lismore Castle Arts, Lismore (2022); Ermes Ermes, Rome (2022) and LC Queisser, Tbilisi (2023). To date, only a few of her writings have been translated from the Georgian. A publication containing English translations of 16 short texts has appeared this year, entitled Stories for Children (2023), to mark a duo show with Simon Lassig at LC Queisser.
