He was discovered by Jan Bołoz Antoniewicz and appeared in scholarly literature in 1923 in the monograph of Władysław Żyła \u0026quot;Kości\u0026oacute;ł i klasztor Dominikan\u0026oacute;w we Lwowie\u0026quot; (\u0026quot;Dominican church and monastery in Lviv\u0026quot;).\u0026nbsp;His first and second name, some information about his family and approximate date of death were only established in 1993,\u0026nbsp;with the discovery of registers of the\u0026nbsp;Buchach\u0026nbsp;Roman Catholic\u0026nbsp;parish.\u0026nbsp;The place and exact date of his birth remain unknown.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003ePinsel came to the\u0026nbsp;Kingdom of Poland\u0026nbsp;most probably around 1750. According to Jan K. Ostrowski, it is almost certain that he was of\u0026nbsp;German\u0026nbsp;ethnic origin. He settled in Buchach and became court artist to\u0026nbsp;Mikołaj Bazyli Potocki.\u0026nbsp;In 1751, he married Marianna Majewska, with whom he had two sons: Bernard and Antoni.\u0026nbsp;He closely collaborated with\u0026nbsp;Bernard Meretyn.\u0026nbsp;His student was Maciej Polejowski.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003ePinsel\u0026#39;s works include sculptures and decorations of the\u0026nbsp;Buchach townhall\u0026nbsp;(1750s), the\u0026nbsp;Trinitarian church\u0026nbsp;(1756-1757) and the\u0026nbsp;St. George\u0026#39;s Cathedral\u0026nbsp;(headquarters of\u0026nbsp;Greek Catholics) in\u0026nbsp;Lviv, (1759-1761), interiors of the Roman Catholic churches in:\u0026nbsp;Monastyryska\u0026nbsp;(1761),\u0026nbsp;Horodenka\u0026nbsp;(1752-1755) and\u0026nbsp;Hodovytsia\u0026nbsp;(1757-1758),\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 10.8333px;\"\u003e \u003c/span\u003esculptures in the Roman Catholic parish church in\u0026nbsp;Budaniv.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003eHis only work that survived intact, in its original spatial arrangement, is the facade of the St. George\u0026#39;s Cathedral. His sculptural complexes in the churches in Horodenka and Monastyryska were almost completely destroyed between 1939 and 1989.
