René Daniëls

Born in Eindhoven (NL), lives in Eindhoven (NL).

René Daniëls graduates from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in ’s-Hertogenbosch in 1976. In the early eighties Daniëls participates in a number of exhibitions which gain him international acclaim.

Daniëls is strongly influenced by such music genres as punk, new wave and no wave. He also has a special relationship with Eindhoven and New York in the eighties, both cities are of great importance to the development of both his oeuvre and his career.

In 1987 Daniëls suffers a stroke. For a long time it is impossible for him to work on his art. In 2006 Daniëls once again starts to make art, only now on a smaller scale and with markers and spray cans.

The M HKA Ensembles represent our first steps towards initiating the public to today's art-related digital landscape. With the help of these new media, our aim is to offer our artworks a better and fuller array of support for their presentation and public understanding.
