Xu Zhen

Born in Shanghai (CN), lives in Shanghai (CN).

Xu Zhen is considered to be one of the most radical Chinese conceptual artists. In 2005 he participated in the Venice biennial and in 2007 in the Istanbul biennial. The artist uses the body to express his thoughts and ideals. In his work social taboos and traditional moral views are broken down. It is an appeal to renew values in contemporary society.
