Very early on in his career, Muntadas was intrigued by the power of media, which became obvious to him when seeing the way Franco ruled over Spain and how he used media to make up the public minds. This interest has stayed throughout his career, evolving as the media itself evolved with the rise of internet. Many of his works raise awareness about the perception of images, which is led to the slogan “Warning: perception requires involvement”. This element has become so important that we created a seperate ensemble around it, but there are many other works that explore the principles of specific media elements like television or advertising, and form a group on their own.
