M HKA gaat digitaal

Met M HKA Ensembles zetten we onze eerste échte stappen in het digitale landschap. Ons doel is met behulp van nieuwe media de kunstwerken nog beter te kaderen dan we tot nu toe hebben kunnen doen.

We geven momenteel prioriteit aan smartphones en tablets, m.a.w. de in-museum-ervaring. Maar we zijn evenzeer hard aan het werk aan een veelzijdige desktop-versie. Tot het zover is vind je hier deze tussenversie.

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Exhibition: Bathyle De La Deschenières

Bathyle de la Deschenières” is the main character in "La Belle et le Manant", published in n° 45  of the periodical Regal. Regal is a gentlemen's magazine from the 1950s, from which Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven took her inspiration to create a series of works, with which she is still occupied.

She selected 10 layouts from the magazine and used them to create computer designs on plexiglass. Her current primary manner of work is reusing double pages from these magazines and to transform them into larger works. She starts out with computer prints and then continues creating them by hand. The series concerns fantasies, confusion, reality, utopia in decline and psychosis.

For the installation, various works inspired by the subject “Bathyle de la Deschenières” will be exhibited in the Bensimon shop, located at Steenhouwersvest 40 in Antwerp.
