Daar komt vanaf nu verandering in. De hogere verdiepingen worden gereserveerd voor wisselende collectiepresentaties: een plaats waar de kunstwerken worden getoond en waar ze onverwachte verbindingen met elkaar aangaan, een plaats waar de verschillende verhalen, lijnen en kernpunten in de verzameling duidelijk worden en waar ontdekkingen worden gedaan.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"line-height:1.6\"\u003eOm de omgang met de collectie open te trekken, zal er ook plaats worden geruimd voor kunstenaars om binnen de context van de collectiepresentatie aan de slag te gaan.\u0026nbsp;\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eDe eerste kunstenaar die op die manier in relatie wordt gebracht met de verzameling, is Guy Mees. Aan hem werd gevraagd om een tentoonstelling van zijn eigen werk te verweven met een presentatie van de collectie. Het was dan ook in overleg met hem dat het museum de nu tentoongestelde stukken heeft geselecteerd.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eHet M HKA beheert collecties van verschillende herkomst: de collectie Gordon Matta-Clark die indertijd de basis vormde voor de verzameling, de eigen aankopen, een deel van de collectie verworven door de Vlaamse Gemeenschap en de nalatenschap van het I.C.C., met onder meer een belangrijk videoarchief. Uit deze verzameling werd voor de eerste collectiepresentatie nieuwe stijl een uitgesproken internationale keuze gemaakt. Er wordt werk getoond van onder anderen Vito Acconci, Dennis Adams, Daniel Buren, Marlene Dumas, Jimmie Durham, Dan Graham, Craigie Horsfield, Rodney Graham, Donald Judd, Alan McCollum, Juan Mu\u0026ntilde;oz, Bruce Nauman, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Thomas Ruff, Cindy Sherman, Minette Vari en Lawrence Weiner. Een selectie die een historische diepte geeft aan het heden, met onder meer foto\u0026rsquo;s, installaties, objecten, sculpturen, tekeningen, schilderijen en
