M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Exhibition: Elements and Material from my Atelier in Berlin's Grunewald Forest

Barbara Wien - Galerie und Buchhandlung für Kunstbücher, Berlin

29 April 2006 - 01 July 2006

©Galerie Wien Lukatsch, Berlin / Jimmie Durham

In this exhibition Jimmie Durham showed assemblages, sculptures and objects from his studio in Grunewald in Berlin. He had been working there for a few years, in the same space which Hitler had built for Arno Breker in 1940. To some extent, the artworks reflect upon the historically loaded environment and its Nazi architecture but they are also descriptions of objects found by Durham on walks through the forest such as giant mushrooms and plastic trash as well as objects which accumulated in his studio, composing an inventory of everyday things.
