For the eleventh year in a row, Antwerp Hospital School and M HKA are joining forces. Showing Off 11 is a story about the wonder, experimentation, action and creativity that arise when children and young people are exposed to contemporary art.

We believe that art, and especially playing with images, language and music, can give space to feelings, thoughts and imagination. This year, together with national and international artists, we delved into the world of visual poetry: looking, interpreting and reshaping.

During creative workshops, the young people discovered how images can speak and words can become visible. What often starts with doubt grows into wonder. Pupils see themselves differently, dare to experiment and sometimes exceed their own expectations. This exchange is also special for the artists, supervisors and the museum. The open-mindedness and honest creativity of the young people make this process a mutual source of inspiration.
