"The design is the computer print Maeterlinck, one of my 19 Filosofische ruimtes (Philosophical Rooms). This work was executed as a ‘tufted’ carpet. The interior is one of the salons in my parental home that served for decades as a banquet hall for the Antwerp well-to-do bourgeoisie. We could hear and smell the parties, it was part of our daily existence. We lived as a family above this specific part of the banquet halls. I’m hanging from the ceiling, together with two friends from a later stage in my life."
