He enters the real race of ecology, having turned his life into \u0026lsquo;the surrounding environment\u0026rsquo;, from which nature itself turns out to be excluded.\u0026nbsp;At the same time, it turns out that all the main \u0026lsquo;battles\u0026rsquo; of this world have been missed by humanity and thus, the formation of the unconditional Anthropocene is only now revealing its consequences: the turning point when a new eco-cultural order of the impersonal power of the climate occurred came unnoticed.\u0026nbsp;In his project, Novikov investigates the role of nature as a political factor in the history of Cambodia. For this research he applies political ecology, drawing a parallel with practice of painting. Creating his canvas the artist strives to liberate painting from a subservient state and to transfer it from the object (the canvas, the stretcher) to a hyperobject (something to which we are connected, but not something we possess). Painting plays the role of an activist or a climatic phenomenon. Он включается в настоящую гонку экологий, превратив свой мир в \u0026laquo;окружающую среду\u0026raquo;, из которой природа оказалась фактически вытеснена. При этом, все главные \u0026laquo;битвы\u0026raquo; этого мира были пропущены человечеством, поэтому становление безоговорочного антропоцена только сейчас демонстрирует свои последствия: незамеченным оказался тот поворотный момент, когда сложился новый эко-культурный порядок обезличенной власти климата. В своем проекте Новиков исследует роль природы как политического фактора в истории Камбоджи. Для этого он прибегает к понятию политической экологии, проводя параллель между наукой и живописью. Создавая свои холсты Новиков стремится освободить живопись от подчиненного состояния и перевести ее из объекта (холст, подрамник) в гиперобъект (то, к чему мы подключаемся, а не то, чем мы владеем). Живопись выполняет роль активиста или климатического явления.
