We have asked the middle-aged and senior inhabitants of the neighbourhood to sing some parts of Walter Benjamin\u0026rsquo;s essay \u003cem\u003eOn the \u003c/em\u003e\u003ci\u003eConcept\u0026nbsp;\u003c/i\u003e\u003cem\u003eof History\u003c/em\u003e.\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/span\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: justify;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size:14px;\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-family:Tahoma,Geneva,sans-serif;\"\u003eWalter Benjamin had started to write his renowned text \u003cem\u003eOn the \u003c/em\u003e\u003ci\u003eConcept\u0026nbsp;\u003c/i\u003e\u003cem\u003eof History \u003c/em\u003ein 1940 in the internment camp in occupied France short time before he\u0026nbsp;committed\u0026nbsp;suicide\u0026nbsp;out of despair unable to cross French-Spanish border.\u0026nbsp;Combining historical materialism with Jewish Messianic tradition Benjamin speaks of redemption of the past.
