M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Literary synopsis
In the spring of 2015 Jean-Christophe Norman traveled to Cambodia with the idea of reproducing on the Mekong the outline of the apartment in which Marguerite Duras lived in Paris on rue Saint Benoit and that the filmmaker Benoit Jacquot drew him from memory. It was then a question of making a welding in space and of making join the here and elsewhere. Somewhat as if the past was still to come.

Relation of the novel to the artist’s practice

The novel is the mode of restitution of a project carried out in Phnom Penh and it is part of a wide project. Jean-Christophe Norman entirely rewrote it in the nave of the Mac Val. In a second step, the project consists of rewriting it again, but this time in the form of a single line and using white chalk in the city of Phnom Penh.
