The Autogram Generator became the basis of so-called AUTOGRAMS, a selection of several Polaroid pictures that are glued to a white paper board, creating sentences such as ...

A sentence that was also later reproduced by using newly made German number plates. A first exhibition of these works took place in the VECU in Antkwerp in 1976.

The Autogram Generator can be seen as an abstract or conceptual language, the words of which can be formed into understandable and sometimes quite funny sentences. A selection of such sentences was used for a book that I called 'Autobiography of a He-Man', where the sentences were printed on long strips of paper and then bound in two German license plates. - Alexander Schleber
