"The 'rainbow alphabet' led to a whole number of different works. Among them are what I refer to as 'newspaper art', where I have taken different newspapers and transformed them in different ways. Some of them were simply dyed in a color.
Other newspapers were subjected to so-called 'information digs'. I punched out parts of the newspaper with a punch and then added these 'extracts' in a small plastic bag. In other papers I blanked out some of the type with regular black circles. And still other newspapers were reworked according to the 'rainbow alphabet', each letter of an article being painted over in its assigned color, using marker pens. The 'information digs' for instance also included a book, in which a triangle had been drilled out through the entire work." - Alexander Schleber
