3 Continents

I bought Europe. Your pride, your pride of a Europe that no longer belongs to you, your ignorance of contemporary consequence, your comfort and aristocratic preservation priorities, the simplicity of supremacy: I bought it.

I bought Europe. You were in debt, Europe. Not of the past, but of its consequence, Christmas, Easter, and the fact that not all of you are dying of cold, wet weather complications.

I bought all of that. I bought even your hate of the dark-skin-takeover of the color pink. I bought Europe and its various shades of white. I bought it. I bought Europe.

Do not worry. Just like the previous owners, I have no intention of making Europe's people less ignorant, less lazy, less ‘consequentless’. I did buy Europe, not Europeans. I bought memory. So like free-range birds and mammals, you are free. So, when the time comes for the battle between my children's children and your children's children: do call us purple, not black.

Two things I would like to clear out, just to let everyone at ease: no, Asia does not give a fuck about you. And no, Bill Gates is not – I repeat – Bill Gates is not an associate in this exciting new venture. I bought Europe.

I bought the US of A. Your pride, your pride of a US of A that belongs to you. Your ignorance of old and new consequence, your comfort and your aristocratic preservation priorities, the simplicity of supremacy: I bought it.

I bought the US of A. You were in debt, US of A. Not only of the past, but of its present and future consequence, Christmas, Easter, and the fact that not all of you are dying of cold, wet weather complications.

I bought all of that. I bought even your hate of the dark-skin-takeover of the color pink. I bought the US of A and its various shades of white and black. I bought it.

Do not worry. Just like the previous owners, I have no intention of making the US of A's people any less ignorant, less lazy, less ‘consequentless’. I did buy the US of A, not Americans. I bought the lack of global, knowledgeable memory. So like free-range birds and mammals, you are free. So when the time for battle comes between my children's children and your children's children: make sure they call us - they call me - purple, not black.

Two things I would like to clear out just to leave everyone and anyone at ease: yes, Asia is having fun with all of this and no, it does not give a fuck about you. Mr. Gaddafi is not – I repeat – Mr. Gaddafi is not an associate, a member of this exciting new venture.

I bought the US of A. I bought it.

Africa.

I've ... Fuck Africa, man.

About M HKA / Mission Statement

The M HKA is a museum for contemporary art, film and visual culture in its widest sense. It is an open place of encounter for art, artists and the public. The M HKA aspires to play a leading role in Flanders and to extend its international profile by building upon Antwerp's avant-garde tradition. The M HKA bridges the relationship between artistic questions and wider societal issues, between the international and the regional, artists and public, tradition and innovation, reflection and presentation. Central here is the museum's collection with its ongoing acquisitions, as well as related areas of management and research.

About M HKA Ensembles

The M HKA Ensembles represent our first steps towards initiating the public to today's art-related digital landscape. With the help of these new media, our aim is to offer our artworks a better and fuller array of support for their presentation and public understanding.
