Acting as a counterbalance to the tendency since classical Greek tradition to hide female genitalia in sculptures and images, this contemporary fertility sculpture seeks to foreground the vagina as an organ of shared female experience through history. Hair and branches are painted around this wooden sculpture, again evoking the body and the symbolism of trees.
