Respect for the exploratory process was palpable. For the most part, there seemed to be a willingness to travel with the artist on a road of\u003cbr /\u003e\r\ninvestigation, to respectfully and thoughtfully consider what came forth, whether refined, or instead rough as it developed by the moment.\u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u003cbr /\u003e\r\nAs I watch the 1979 video, decades later, I see that this work unfolded very slowly in real time. Mostly it was formless, gradually building and almost totally improvisational,\u003cbr /\u003e\r\nexcept with the inclusion of a few vocal passages which appear to have been familiar territory around which to play anew, (vocal-sound patterns, and go-go-bell with voice). A section with finger clicking and percussive boots on the floor and the interplay ofp movement with sound took amorphous shape on its own.\u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u003cbr /\u003e\r\nOften my eyes were closed, which suggests that this was akin to a private, (often latenight) work session in my NY studio. However, this time I was sharing the night\u0026rsquo;s journey with the ICC community.\u003cbr /\u003e\r\n\u003cbr /\u003e\r\nThe opportunity that the ICC offered artists to dive into precarious and mysterious tides of creative practice without guarantees or established expectations was critical. Meestal was het vormloos, geleidelijk opbouwend en bijna volledig improvisatorisch, behalve met de toevoeging van een paar vocale passages die bekend terrein lijken te zijn geweest om opnieuw omheen te spelen, (vocale-klankpatronen, en go-go-bell met stem). Een gedeelte met vingergeklik en percussie-laarzen op de vloer en het samenspel van beweging met geluid nam op zichzelf amorfe vormen aan.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eVaak waren mijn ogen gesloten, wat suggereert dat dit verwant was aan een besloten, (vaak nachtelijke) werksessie in mijn studio in New York. Maar deze keer deelde ik de reis van de nacht met de ICC-gemeenschap.\u003c/p\u003e\r\n\r\n\u003cp\u003eDe mogelijkheid die het ICC kunstenaars bood om zich zonder garanties of gevestigde verwachtingen in de onzekere en mysterieuze stromingen van de creatieve praktijk te storten, was van cruciaal belang.
