The British artist Ken McMullen (°1948, Manchester) is best known as an experimental filmmaker and director. His films take a radical approach, always rooted in theoretical concepts from philosophy, psychoanalysis or history. This led him to work with cultural icons including Jacques Derrida, Joseph Beuys and John Berger, all of whom left their mark on McMullen’s work. In June 1978, McMullen was invited by Today’s Place to hold a screening of Resistance and Lovelies and Dowdies.
