The visual world of Hans-Peter Feldmann is very diverse and extensive. Most of what he presents is not made by him but found. The objects shown are picked up in (antique) shops or on markets, which he subsequently manipulates, like this plaster head. Feldmann draws no distinction between found or homemade material. In doing so, he offers a comment on our current consumption society, but also on the way art market operates. Aesthetic ideals, traditions within Western art and the structure of values that define artistic practice are questioned in a playful way.
