M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Literary synopsis At the Weiko Sud Diet Clinic, a slimming farm completely isolated from the outside world, a group of extremely obese patients undergoes unconventional therapy, one that doesn’t necessarily produce the desired effects… Until one day, Dr. Ariel Tense, the new straight-laced and vicious senior consultant, arrives at Weiko Sud directly from Brasilia bringing with him his own arsenal of slimming tools. Soon the tension builds up between the sinister Dr. Tense, ready to whip his new herd into submission, and Dr. Sago, the mysterious guru-like manager of the farm. As the XXL fashion show comes to an ecstatic close, the situation in the clinic escalates uncontrollably… Relation of the novel to the artist’s practice Phyllis Kiehl is an artist and writer. She works with text, readings, drawings and installation. Her writing is intensely connected to her art practice. She considers herself a storyteller and her drawings a way to tell a story in less time. She writes fiction in order to rearrange her grasp on reality. This can result in strange, sometimes bizarre scenarios. Every now and again, the more extraordinary visual elements of her stories renounce their status as printed matter and manifest themselves in drawings. Or in three-dimensional space –for example in the plump, tactile sculptures that have become an ever-growing part of her household. [Novel website](http://www.metronomepress.com/books/books3.html)
