Materials:

Anna is a Belgian filmmaker in her 20s who travels through Europe to promote her latest movie. The majority of her time is spent in anonymous hotel rooms and abandoned train stations. In Essen, she goes to bed with a German journalist. In Paris, she visits her mother and tells her about a lesbian affair she had. Nobody really seems to speak with Anna. People talk about themselves to themselves. And Anna doesn't react. After all her wanderings, the woman goes back to her empty flat and the one-sided messages on her answering machine. Indeed, Anna seems to have a more intense relationship with her telephone than with the sad men whom she has encounters.

Les Rendez-vous d'Anna is a road movie (or 'train movie', in this case), not just about a woman who is looking for herself, but also about a broader moral and spiritual unease, and thus highly of our time.

This film can be seen on March 23rd in Cinema Zuid.
