Segunda Vez / Second Time Around is a film that revolves around the Argentinian intellectual Oscar Masotta (1930–1979). The work explores the relationship between performance, Lacanian psychoanalysis, literature and politics. Featuring the repetitions of Masotta’s original Happenings, Segunda Vez addresses narrative strategies that are central to García’s practice, such as repetition and metafiction. Repetition runs through the film as a red thread that interlaces the description of the political and social climate in Argentina during the period of state terrorism (1976–1983) with reflections on the notion of the Happening and the position of the audience.
