M HKA gaat digitaal

M HKA goes digital

Embracing the possibilities of new media, M HKA is making a particular effort to share its knowledge and give art the framework it deserves.

We are currently focusing on the experience in the museum with this application for smartphones and tablets. In the future this will also lead to a versatile desktop version, which is now still in its construction phase.

Ensemble: The Shagylys Collection / ШАҒЫЛЫС

As a museum with a special focus on Eurasia, M HKA engages with the plurality of culture across the total landmass we know as ‘Europe’ and ‘Asia’. For this reason, it also pays sustained attention to art from Central Asia.

In 2021 M HKA and the Tselinny Center of Contemporary Culture signed a memorandum on their cooperation concerning art from a wider regional Central Asian perspective and Kazakhstani position, with an international horizon and to their institutional cooperation. As part of this partnership, the Tselliny generously engages with our museum through annually acquiring works from the region, and donating them to M HKA. The selection of works aims to be a reflective moment, using the selection procedure organised by Tselinny committee. These works form part of the Shagylys collection, which in Kazakh means ‘reflection’.
