Exposition: La collection de la Ville d’Anvers: IN/SIGHT

La collection de la Ville d’Anvers est une initiative dynamique qui vise à faire prendre conscience de la diversité de la scène artistique contemporaine de la cité portuaire. Reflétant l’esprit de la ville en mouvement, elle présente des œuvres d’artistes locaux et internationaux, aussi bien des talents émergents que des valeurs établies.
Depuis son lancement en 2021, le M HKA et la Ville d’Anvers développent conjointement la collection par le biais d’acquisitions annuelles. Constitué fgraduellement par une sélection réfléchie, cet ensemble d’œuvres reste au musée sous forme de prêt à long terme. Cette première présentation, intitulée Lipstick and Gas Masks [Rouge à lèvre et masques à gaz] mettait en avant une génération émergente d’artistes qui vivent et travaillent à Anvers. L’édition 2024 se focalise sur des artistes considérés comme des références clés, particulièrement importantes pour les galeries anversoises. Médiatrices entre la scène locale et internationale, les galeries ont toujours joué un rôle majeur dans les développements avant-gardistes du paysage culturel de la ville. In/sight, que nous inaugurons en même temps que la 10e édition de l’Antwerp Art Weekend, célèbre le caractère unique d’Anvers en tant que port d’attache et havre pour des artistes contemporains et leurs œuvres. La présentation se déroulera tout au long de l’année, rassemblant la variété kaléidoscopique d’œuvres de la Collection de la Ville d’Anvers.
